The bachelor of health administration degree with major in healthcare administration provides students with knowledge of the healthcare business and systems environment, the skills needed to manage and administer within the healthcare environment, and leadership ability as evidenced in communication, relationships, organizational climate and culture and the ever-changing aspects of the industry. Freshman and sophomore year students complete required coursework in the health sciences pre-HA concentration and apply to the program during their second year to be admitted for their third year. A field placement experience during which qualified students perform under the guidance of a preceptor at an affiliated site is incorporated into the program. Students may seek further professional development through university student services and professional organizations. Students have the option to participate in Education Abroad or Study in America for global and cultural enrichment. Membership in numerous campus organizations is also available for developing peer networks.
