Accounting

Accounting undergraduates access the foundational knowledge, technical skills, professionalism training and networking opportunities essential to turn the BBA in accounting into a meaningful career. There is a high demand for accounting skills, and graduates with a BBA in accounting have strong placement rates thanks to unique opportunities offered to meet major recruiters at our career fairs, work together with fellow students in one of our student organizations, and gain real-world experience through internships and our volunteer income tax assistance (VITA) clinic. Those pursuing licensure as a Certified Professional Accountant typically matriculate into a one-year master of accountancy (MAcy) or master of accounting and information technology (MSAIT), during which they complete full-time internships for credit and pay. The placement rate for students who complete the MAcy and MSAIT is close to one hundred percent. The student experience is enhanced by access to an array of additional experiences through the McCoy College Student Success Center.
